F2 Savannah Cat in Sacramento, CA

F2 Savannah Cat

My heart hurts for posting this...I have to give up my Savannah Cat.I live in a condo and the space is too small for her.I named her Mowgli. She was born July 6, 2014She has been declawed. (Not by my choice). Therefore she has to be an indoor cat. (I let her outside only when I supervise and am there at all times.)If you know anything about Savannah Cats the first thing you notice about them is there wild like features. She has the serval like ears, and tail. She acts more like the African Wild Serval then she does a domestic house cat. Therefore I can't give her to anyone with small children. The youngest they could be is 13. She is a very curious cat. She always wants to be in the room where all the action is going down and wants to be right in the center of it all. Her favorite room would have to be the kitchen, and her favorite person would be the one who feeds her scraps of there left over meat. (She is very much like dog, and begs.)This cat would not work well with a family who has a lot of clutter. (I myself have a lot of clutter and she get into everything. She has caused me to become very clean.) So no dishes left in the sink, or laundry left on the floor or else she will get into it. I am not in a rush to get rid of her. I will take my time when giving her up to make sure she is going to the right person. She is a time consuming cat and takes up a lot of your energy. I will not be giving her to any first time cat owners. I would prefer someone with Bengal, or Savannah, Jungle Bob, experience. I do not know how she would do with other cats as she was my only cat. She seems very territorial so it might be best if she were the only one. Nobody just gives away a $3000-$8,000 cat for free. However, I am going to if it's the right person. She has a specific diet. She eat's science diet which is about $40 a bag, sold at pet extreme. SHE CAN NOT HAVE REGULAR CAT FOOD. The Science Diet will last you about a month. If you can't afford and extra $100 a month on food, and cat litter. This cat is not for you. She is a really sweet girl. She greets me at the door every night when I come home from work. She is very vocal. (Read up on these cats and do your homework. These cat's talk a lot!) You can pick her up and hold her for a few seconds. However, she doesn't like being held for long periods at a time. She sits on your lap or next to you on her own terms. (She is not really a lap cat. So if you are looking for a lap cat this is not the cat for you.) Mowgli is very smart! She is the type of cat you could teach tricks to. She loves to show off when people over and she is always great entertainment.
